Summer is coming soon and finally, we will enjoy more spare time with our family.  This year, staying home is not a choice, because Costa del Sol has plenty of fun activities that will make time flies as you enjoy it.

Refresh yourself in a cave

When temperatures rise, spend your time in a fresh cave turns into a very attractive alternative.

Cueva de Nerja, in the district of Maro, is one of the best attractions in the area. A small adventure will take you to what is considered one of the first pieces of humanity´s work of art, with more than 42.000 years old.

It has been named an international relevance Spanish geological place of interest, and that is a great choice for art and geology lovers. 

Touristic gallery zone has several ghost chambers, Del Belén, de las Cascadas, Del Cataclismo, and de la Torca.  All of them are reachable without any problem.

In fact, it is usual to find theatrical workshops and visits to make the time fun and educational for kids.

Museum route

Málaga and other cities around have a high variety of museums, for everyone and every interest, which makes this an interesting alternative of family time.

One of the most interesting ones is the Museo Interactivo de la Música, where children can see and play the instruments, they may be interested in.

For speed lovers, the Museo Automovilístico de Málaga is a required visit. There, you can enjoy old Ferrari, Bentley or Rolls Royce models, among others.

A very amazing choice is the Museo de las Miniaturas at Mijas. There, visitors can see curious things like a Virgin Mary figure carved on a lentil, or a Last Supper carved on a rice grain.

Beach and more beaches

Costa del Sol is always well known for its magnificent beaches. In this region, more than 160 kilometers of beaches for all ages and tastes waiting for you.

There are family beaches, bohemian beaches; nudist beaches … Beaches are always a great place to spend your day because they are fully equipped.

If kids do not want any more swimming, they may enjoy the children´s games area with grass.  Time to eat? A chiringuito will make the perfect excuse to enjoy the region´s cuisine.

The sea brings you the best opportunity to practice several family activities like a kayak trip to discover hidden beaches and original rock formations, having a very quiet fishing journey or starting a diving practice.

Discover different animals with family

One of the characteristics of the Costa del Sol zone is a large number of animal parks.

At Torremolinos, you may be surprised at Cocodrile Park with more than 200 animals, and a high possibility to approach the smaller animals.

At Fuengirola, you can visit BioParc Zoo, a zoo that also works as an endangered animal breeding center. This is a good chance to see animals you would not be able to see when living in their natural environment.

Surprise yourself at Benalmádena with the Jardín de las Águilas (you can get there via cable railway) and enjoy an exhibition of birds of prey. If you prefer other smaller flying animals, in this city you will find the Mariposario.

Parque de la Paloma

During high-temperature days, there is nothing better than a nice afternoon family tour, when heat comes down.

A visit to Parque de la Paloma at Benalmádena is a good reason to escape any day. Not only, it is such a beautiful location, but also it is an animal sanctuary where you can walk surrounded by rabbits, peacocks, and others. 

This activity is one of the children´s favorites, and which is obvious.

Hiking and astrology, all in one

If you are an active family and you like sports, Torcal de Antequera waits for you. It is a spectacular place to enjoy nature with three different ways for hiking, suitable for everyone.

This is one of the best places to enjoy stars during the summer.
